Getting Google Maps API Key
Getting a Google Maps API Key is much simpler than getting the API keys of the rest of the technologies that we mentioned before in our previous blogs.
Instead of going in detail again about explaining what an API key is, we’ll directly jump to the steps for retrieving one. If you want to learn more about API keys, please follow our previous blogs here:
1. Go to Google API Console
2. Select the self explanatory tabs and hit “Agree and Continue”
3. Enter the “API Key Name”, select “HTTP referrers (web sites) under key restrictions and enter the domain as http://domain.com/* in Accept requests from these HTTP referrers (web sites) section and click “Create”.
4. You’ll see your API Key right after you hit create.
You should always protect your API Keys for unauthorized access from other users. You an hit “Restrict Key” for restricted access of your API key.
That’s it. You’re good to go! For more details on how to create your Google Maps API key, you can go to Google Developer Console’s support page.
